November 12 - Hike
Attention all high school and middle school students! Come join us for an easy, but beautiful hike along the Potomac at the C&O Canal on Sunday, November 12th. We'll meet at St. James for 10:30 Mass and sit together. After Mass, we will drive to Carderock and hike along the river. We'll break for lunch (bring a bag lunch) and then head back ready for pick-up at St. James around 2:30. Please RSVP to Fr. Oetjen at fatheroetjen@stjamescatholic.org.
WORKCAMP 2018
Registration is open for all high school teens who have completed freshman year of high school. WorkCamp involves spending one week with 800 other teens in the Arlington Diocese working on home projects such as painting, drywall, roof repairs, building decks and wheelchair ramps, and other needed home repair projects for physically, mentally or financially challenged people.
We also need adults to volunteer as crew leaders and contractors. Crew leaders are in charge of their group of five teens, working on the home project and attending the evening programs at homebase. Contractors do not need to stay at homebase, but attend the work projects Monday through Thursday.
