“How to Keep Your Faith in College,” is a new, free, two-part series being offered to all St. James students, and their parents, in grades 9-12. Meeting on April 30 and May 7 at 7:00pm in the St. James School library, the series, led by Deacon Ed and his team of catechists, will tackle the issues that students will grapple with on their college campuses:
- The spiritual characteristics of a typical Catholic teen heading off to college
- The weaknesses that make their faith vulnerable at school
- Three significant threats to the Catholic faith found in the university environment
- What we (as Catholic students and parents) can do to build our defenses and preserve our faith during these crucial college years
The class will include multiple handouts, opportunities for group discussion, and videos by noted Catholic speakers, including Bishop Robert Barron and Father Mike Schmitz.
With Faithwire reporting in its January 23, 2019 issue that over two-thirds of students abandon their faith during their college years, this is a class that nobody who will be attending college should miss.
