On Thursday, September 26, the staff and students of St. James Catholic School along with dignitaries from the City of Falls Church gathered to congratulate Mrs. Janet Haines on her retirement. Mrs. Haines, a Falls Church City Crossing Guard, guarded the corner of West Broad Street (Rte. 7) and N. Spring Street from September of 1967 through June, 2019. For 52 years she made sure our school's students crossed safely on their way to and from school. She was the City of Falls Church's longest serving employee.
