Seven Corners Children’s Center is a private, non-profit organization started in 1971 by a local group of religious leaders. SCCC partners with Fairfax County to provide day care and family support services to the working poor in a multi-cultural setting.
Every year, 70 at risk children ages 2-5 are given nurturing care and early childhood education that prepares them for kindergarten. In addition they are provided with medical, hearing, dental, speech and vision screenings as needed to ensure that they are ready to learn. Both parents work and pay for these services on a sliding scale.
Through our annual Caring for Kids drive, St. James parishioners have supplemented SCCC funds to help them carry out their mission to these children. Social Outreach Committee members will be collecting after masses the weekend of 10/5 & 6. We ask for your generous financial response to help them meet this year’s needs.
