In case you are wondering if Govenor Northam's new COVID restrictions will shut down St. James again, Father Scalia assures us that, "St. James is Open for Business!"
As I’m sure you heard, yesterday Governor Northam announced new restrictions across the state to stop the spread of Covid-19. Since some parishioners have asked, I want to confirm that – thanks be to God – churches and schools are exempt from the new 25-person limit. We’re still open for the world’s most essential business: worship of the Triune God. We simply need to follow the same protocols that we’ve been observing since May: social distancing, face-coverings, and cleaning. We have not had any outbreaks or cases linked to our parish or school, and we want to keep it that way. In this regard, one thing to note is the Governor’s new requirement for face coverings inside buildings.
