SOCIAL MEDIA

St. James Parish (hereafter referred to as “the parish”), its employees, volunteers, or other parties so designated to act on behalf of the parish who have signed the Diocese of Arlington’s Social Media Policy monitor these sites for inappropriate postings and assume full editorial control of postings. Individuals, groups, or their designees, may not use any social media site maintained by the parish to post any information/picture/meme/gif/or other such medium of communication that may now exist, or that may exist in the future, that promotes: Bullying, Harassment of any type, Obscenity, Pornography, Profanity, Teachings in contravention to Church Doctrine, or Uncivil Discourse. The parish expects users of its social media sites to, at all times, comport themselves in a polite and civil manner while utilizing our sites In the event that St. James Parish Staff discovers any post, or postings, the parish will take all appropriate action including, but not limited to, deleting the material in question, blocking the user(s), reporting abuse to the social media site, and taking any and all other steps as advised by appropriate counsel. Additionally, the parish disclaims all warranties with regard to information posted on these sites, whether posted by the parish or any third party; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and functionality. Nothing in the above terms of service should be construed as to prevent the Parish removing any post to our social media pages, for any reason, and at any time, that the staff feels that doing so is in the best interest of site management.
