Ministry to the Sick

Round Stained Glass Church Window with Wooden Crucifix at the BottomOur Goal

To provide spiritual and compassionate care for all our parishioners who are hospitalized, in assisted living communities, in nursing homes or confined to their own homes.

We fulfill this goal by:

  • Enabling every homebound parishioner to receive Eucharist at least once a week.
  • Making visits designed to listen, comfort, encourage and strengthen our sick.
  • Offering the sacrament of the sick and the sacrament of reconciliation to those who are undergoing serious illness or feel the desire for this spiritual comfort.
  • Praying as a faith community for all who are sick and have requested prayers.
  • Remembering our homebound with greeting cards, birthday cards, seasonal cards made by our parish school students.
  • Offering occasional rides to the doctors or for a medical treatment.
  • Inviting our sick and homebound to continue active participation in our Parish by becoming a “Pray-er” for those in need. Each month a list of parish prayer requests will be mailed to our homebound. In this way, all stay connected in a spirit of concern for one another.

Requests for any of the above services can be made by calling Sister Margaret John Stichter, IHM, at the parish office at 703-532-8115.
