St. James Respects Life

To join the St. James Pro-Life Group, please visit the shortcut link below to join the group and receive occasional emails and alerts on various pro-life activities in and around the parish, https://j.mp/2UxzB31.

Our pro-life ministry conducts fundraisers to support pro-life causes, including a yearly Christmas greens sale to support the local crisis pregnancy center (A Woman's Choice), prays in front of the two abortion facilities in our parish, and organizes the March for Life bus trip, Life Chain, and the 40 Days for Life campaign. The ministry sometimes organizes rosary processions from St. James to one of the local abortion facilities.

Just a reminder that our Pro-Life Group gathers every Saturday morning at 6:45am to pray outside the abortion clinic at 900 S. Washington Street. Please join us in this peaceful way of fighting for life.

We Help Through Prayer

Did you know that it has been reported that “no shows” go up by as much as 70% when people are praying in front of an abortion facility?

Respect for Life Sunday, October 3, 2021 - On October 3rd, the first Sunday in October, from 2:00-3:00pm is Respect Life Sunday. It is a time to stand in peaceful, prayerful public witness alongside other local believers in our annual Life Chain.

Every Week

NOVA for Life is encouraging everyone to participate in a resolution to spend an hour in adoration and pray the rosary in silence before the Blessed Sacrament in intercessory prayer for an end to abortion, for the protection of the lives of the unborn and for the conversion of all those involved especially within our Diocese.

Every Month

As of August 2021, we now meet every Saturday Rosary at 6:45-7:30AM at the Falls Church abortion facility for peaceful prayer: 900 S. Washington Street, Falls Church, VA 22046.

There is a Holy Hour the second Tuesday of every month 7:30-8:30 PM to pray for the healing of our culture and for those who hold the secret sorrow of abortion deep within their hearts – that grace will break through. The next Holy Hour is November 13 at St. Mary of Sorrows (Fairfax Station Road and Route 123, Fairfax).

You may join prayer novenas through Priests for Life at (www.priestsforlife.org) any time.

We Help Through Action

The St. James Pro-Life Committee meets for action planning on first Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Knecht Conference Room.

Every year, approximately 56 million people die in the world...from all causes. In addition to those 56 million, another 56 million die from abortion worldwide?(World Health Organization)

Preborn Baby Facts
At week 36, a preborn baby is almost done growing inside his or her mother’s womb and is ready to be born! If the baby was born he or she would be big enough to be called “early-term” instead of “pre-term.”
